We can only make so many decisions a day before we get run down.
And when we’re run down, we make bad decisions (e.g., doing what’s easiest instead of what’s most important) or are unable to make a decision at all. Been there? Me, too.
Not only that, but decision fatigue and its effects can cause us to feel anxious, scattered, pulled in too many directions, and maybe even a little lost.
We’ve all been there. It’s just part of human nature.
We can’t change the fact that we all have a limited amount of decision-making power every day.
So, what can we do about it?
One of my big goals with my time management method is to help you avoid as much decision fatigue as I can.
How? Well, when you run your life out of your email inbox, to-do lists, post-it notes, head, phone notes app, task management app, and more, every time you sit down to do something, you have to spend a lot of energy figuring out what to do.
Instead, with my method, using my combination of planning and making your activities visual, I help you create a realistic game plan each week ahead of time. And while it’s flexible and shifts with life, it helps you figure out ahead of time what’s important and how you’ll get it all done.
Then, unless a curveball hits (and we plan for those, too), you play out your plan.
This requires you to make WAY less decisions a day, saving that decision-making power for the important stuff.
Make sense?
